Where John’s interest began
Our Family Heritage Origins
John’s interest in pest control goes back to his grandad, who was well known locally for carrying out pigeon control for organisations such as the council. At the time, this type of work was vital in helping communities manage public spaces, and it was even documented in the local London newspapers. Hearing these stories over the years gave John a strong sense of heritage within the trade and inspired the passion that he carries into his own work.

Family Run Pest Control Based in Dymchurch
Cinque Ports Pest Control Ltd is a family run business based at 9 Seabourne Way, Dymchurch, Kent TN29 0PX, on Romney Marsh. John Lacey has been in the trade since 2001, and we look after homes, businesses and industrial sites across Kent.
We deal with all of the common pests, from rats, mice and wasps to fleas, bed bugs, flies and moths, as well as squirrels, silverfish, rabbits, moles and deer. For gulls and pigeons, John also flies his own Harris hawk, a natural deterrent used alongside netting, spikes and optical gels in our seagull and bird control work.
We are members of the British Pest Control Association, approved through Kent Trading Standards Checked, registered with TrustMark and listed on Checkatrade. We are also SafeContractor approved, BASIS PROMPT registered, supporters of the CRRU’s Think Wildlife campaign and members of the Guild of British Molecatchers.
The heritage behind our name
The Cinque Ports Towns We Cover
Our name comes from the Cinque Ports, the historic confederation of coastal towns in Kent and Sussex that supplied ships and crews to guard the coast in return for royal privileges. Cinque is Old French for five, after the original head ports of Hastings, New Romney, Hythe, Dover and Sandwich. Rye and Winchelsea later joined as the two Ancient Towns, and smaller limb ports were tied to the head ports.
Eight of the Confederation of the Cinque Ports member towns sit within the area we cover from Dymchurch.
