Who we are

This website is run by Cinque Ports Pest Control Ltd(“we”, “us”). We are a family run pest control business based in Kent and we are the data controller for the personal information described here. What we collect

When you use our contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the type of enquiry and the message you write. If you email or call us instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us so that we can help. We do not ask for any sensitive information, and we do not collect card or payment details through this website.

Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs such as IP addresses and browser type for security and to keep the site running. We do not use these to identify you.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use your details for one purpose, which is to reply to your enquiry, give you advice or a quote, and arrange any work you ask us to do. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where you go on to book work, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We do not use your details for marketing and we never sell them.

Who we share it with

We keep your information to ourselves and share it only with the services that help us run the business.

• Web3Forms. Our contact form is delivered to us by email through a service called Web3Forms, which processes each submission on our behalf. Web3Forms is based in the United States, so submitting the form transfers your message there as part of sending it to us. It is used only to pass your enquiry along and not for any other purpose.
• Our email provider. Your enquiry arrives as an email, so it is stored in our business inbox in the same way as any other message we receive.
• Our website host. The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes the standard technical logs mentioned above.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set any advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across the web. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no embedded third party tracker. Because we set no non essential cookies, you do not need to accept or reject anything to use the site.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and for our own records, which is normally up to 24 months. If you become a customer, we keep the records connected to your work for as long as we are required to for business and tax purposes. After that we delete them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it. To exercise any of these rights, just email us at info@cinqueportspestcontrol.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

Making a complaint

We would always rather you came to us first so we can put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of the page, so it always reflects how we handle your information now.
